Nadda to get three year term again as BJP Chief!

The BJP leadership is veering round to the view of giving a fresh three term to party president J P Nadda. Nadda took the reins in 2019 after Amit Shah joined the Union Cabinet. Nadda was formally elected for a three year term in January 2020 by the party's National Executive. His performance and low-profile style of functioning has made all organs of the Sangh Parivar extremely happy and the BJP has decided to fight 2024 Lok Sabha polls under his leadership, sources say.

The process of organisational polls will culminate in electing the BJP chief by January 2023. Prior to the National Executive meeting, changes have been effected in almost all the states. The last to be nominated was Bhupendra Chaudhary of the UP unit. The transfer of Sunil Bansal, now general secretary incharge of West Bengal, Telangana and Odisha, three states ruled by different regional parties, also indicates that high command has not punished him. Rather it is a big boost to Bansal's rising graph in Delhi. At the same time, it is also seen as a placatory move to keep Yogi Adityanath happy. The Chief Minister and Sunil Bansal had been at loggerheads for several years. There may be some changes in Bihar where the NDA government fell after Nitish Kumar walked out of an alliance. Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat may also witness some changes after the process of Assembly polls is over later this year. In most of the other states including Maharashtra, Karnataka and West Bengal new state chiefs have been appointed.

The speculation of change in Chief Minister in Karnataka has been put to rest after BS Yediyurappa was brought to BJP's Parliamentary Board. The party is toying with the idea of changes in Madhya Pradesh too and the process may be completed sooner than expected.
